About the Faculty
The Faculty of Agriculture & Veterinary at East Africa University – Garowe is dedicated to advancing sustainable agricultural practices and improving animal health and production across Puntland and the wider Horn of Africa. The faculty offers specialized programs that combine scientific knowledge with practical skills in areas such as crop production, animal science, agribusiness, food security, and veterinary medicine. Students benefit from hands-on training through fieldwork, laboratory sessions, and community-based projects aimed at solving real agricultural and livestock challenges. With a focus on innovation, environmental sustainability, and rural development, the faculty equips graduates to contribute meaningfully to Somalia’s agricultural growth and public health systems.

Graduates of the Faculty of Agriculture & Veterinary have access to diverse and impactful career opportunities that contribute directly to food security, rural development, and public health in Somalia and beyond. They can work as Agricultural Officers, promoting sustainable farming practices and supporting rural communities; Veterinary Doctors, ensuring the health and productivity of livestock; or Livestock Production Officers, improving breeding and animal care systems. Others may become Agronomists, specializing in soil and crop management; Food Security and Nutrition Specialists, addressing hunger and malnutrition through research and policy; or Agribusiness Managers, leading agricultural enterprises and supply chains.
